 Zhengzhou Huayu Fire-resistance Material Co., Ltd was established in 1973 with total investment sum of 1.15 billion yuan, 1900 employees, 11 branch factories and 6 subsidiaries that separately in charge of international trade, the development of high-efficient and prolonged blast furnace, ceramic industry, the research on the fire-resistance material etc, covering 100300m2 area.
Zhengzhou Huayu Fire-resistance Material Co., Ltd manufactures all kinds of 100,000 tons fire-resistance at high, medium and low level material per year. From 1989, Zhengzhou Huayu Fire-resistance Material Co., Ltd conducted the manufacture of a series of products, namely Huayu ceramic cup and blast furnace and cowper blast air heater. In 1991, after severe appraisal, the first ceramic cup was manufactured, the cowper blast air heater used in Ansteel Group Corporation of 1992 still offers its service nowadays, smoothly completing the manufacture and earning the profit, which adapts itself to following the technical roadmap of the modern blast furnace and creates the new era of home-made ceramic cup. It only takes 11 years for Huayu Group to stabilize its position to manufacture 150-plus stable and reliable ceramic cup and blast furnace and cowper blast air heater featuring the good characteristic of high-efficiency, long availability, energy-efficiency and molten iron purification.
Huayu Group achievement: In 1991, commissioned by its direct supervisor, the Scientific and Technological Commission of Henan province carried out the overall technical appraisal of the series product of corundum mullite, Huang Gangyu mullite, composite brown corundum ceramics manufactured by Huayu Group. In February 1992, the first ceramic cup manufactured by Huayu Group was utilized for the No.7 Ansteel Group Corporation blast furnace (2580m3). In 1993, the corundum mullite products, Huang Gangyu mullite products, composite brown corundum ceramics manufactured by Huayu Group were awarded the golden prize in Xinghuo Exhibition.In 1995, a production warrant for manufacturing the alumina brick and blast furnace was given to Huayu Group by Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. In 1997, Huayu Group was granted the enterprise qualification certificate for the rights of self-managed import and export. In 1998，the department of new technology development for blast furnace was established, promoting the ccdm skill and offering the full service for designing, developing, researching, constructing and tapping the structure of the blast furnace and the lower part of tuyere. In 1999，along with University of Science and Technology Beijing, Huayu Group co-manufacture and develop composite brown alumina, corundum mullite products, Huang Gangyu mullite products combined with the 5%-16% sialon. In 1999，hosted by Metallurgical Science and Technology Development Center of National Metallurgical Bureau and held by Huayu Group, the Applied Technology of Blast Furnace Carbon Brick Composite Lining Seminar was convened, with 176 representative on behalf of 87 companies attending, which validated the major contribution that Huayu Group has made to develop the technology of the prolonged blast furnace featuring Chinese characteristic. In 1999，Huayu Group carried out the Nissin high-quality working method, upon being identified by the iso9002 international quality certificate. In December, 1999，Huayu Group obtained the certificate of Corundum mullite composite and high-tech product. In 2000，more than 100 ceramic cups were manufactured in domestic and outbound areas, the specific products were upgraded from generation 1 to 3 and 4, and cylons have already been in production. In January 2001, the companies in the group underwent a overall institutional reform, 30-year-old ownership enterprise was replaced by joint stock enterprise whose efficient asset was reviewed to be 110 million. The newly formed enterprises owns 11 branches like Zhengzhou Jixiang Fire-resistance Material Co., Ltd and 6 functional companies with 1900 employees. Huayu Group held the non-metallic cooling wall of blast furnace and Heterogeneous mosaic of hearth seminar, attended by 68 experts who recognized the technology. Huayu Group manufactured and developed the specific product of the fifth generation of the composite brown alumina, corundum mullite andoriental topaz mullite ceramic cup which is void of the Sanshi low creep brick used in blast furnace and modified alumina brick product.
In 2002 Huayu Group owned two patent of invention and were put into use upon approval. (1) Heterogeneous mosaic of hearth (2) Non-metallic cooling wall of blast furnace. The quality system of these products was transferred from iso9002 to iso-9001 after the review from British Moody Company and was finally registered. From 1992-2002，the statistic said that Huayu Group totally supplied more than 130 ceramic cups for blast furnace and 186 cowper blast air heaters. In the same year, the sales revenue hit 150 million for the first time and the quantity of issued product hit 100,000 tons.
In June 2003, Huayu Group established the branch factory for silica bricks manufacture, the annual production scale reached 40,000 tons, which is specifically used in the upper part of coking furnace and cowper blast air heater. In the same month, Huayu Group manufactured 1.5 tons carbon series product including micropore carbon brick, semi graphite carbon brick and pressed carbon block with the size within 500mm×500mm×1600mm. On the first day of August, the plan of the structural material of the key parts in blast furnace and cowper blast air heaters and material branch were placed in operation with the annual yield reached 100,000 tons. The main products include (1) the pretreated composite structure lining cooling wall of blast furnace. (2) Penghaoji non-metallic cooling wall (3) pretreated composite structure of blast furnace and the integral assembly blast furnace vault. (4) pretreated composite structure of cowper blast air heaters and the integral assembly cowper blast air heaters vault. After all the materials mentioned above have been used in blast furnace and cowper blast air heaters, comparing with the former traditional construction, the cost was dropped by 50%, the life was prolonged 50% and the time of bricklaying was shortened by 50%.
Under the demand of new century, from 1992 the first ceramic cup in China was manufactured to the present. During 11 years, Huayu Group was willing to investigate the technology of the new structure of blast furnace and cowper blast air heaters with the experts and teachers in China and abroad, commit to the extensive promotion and application of the new material used in the new structure and make the new contribution to the high efficiency, long life and energy efficiency of blast furnace and cowper blast air heaters.
