The Energy Segment is comprised of two divisions: Energy Division-I conducting main businesses, comprised of LNG, oil and gas trading, and oil and gas marketing; and Energy Division-II covering two strategic specialties, comprised of an upstream resource development business involved with the exploration and development of oil and gas fields and uranium mines, and a broad business covering nuclear fuel. Marubeni promotes the continuous and stable operation of existing LNG projects, obtaining new business opportunities, the expansion of trade infrastructure, and the development of new markets. Marubeni also focuses its efforts on developing petroleum and natural gas resources worldwide, actively developing new quality opportunities, and increasing production and reserves. It also works toward the global procurement and sales expansion of uranium, as well as an expansion of its nuclear related services, devices, and materials businesses.
Energy Division-I
In the LNG field, the division focuses its efforts on stable operation in existing LNG projects in Qatar, Equatorial Guinea, Peru, and Papua New Guinea, and participation in new projects. For trading and marketing, the division operates trade and sales of crude oil, petroleum products, LPG, and LNG through infrastructure such as vessels and tanks involved in domestic and global networks. The division is also expanding to new energy businesses, including Japan's largest mega-solar power generation project in Oita prefecture.

Energy Division-II
For upstream resource development, Energy Division-II collaborates with major international oil developers, independent oil developers, and resource development companies in many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Qatar, Russia, and Kazakhstan, to conduct exploration, development, and the production of oil, gas and uranium. For nuclear fuel, the division focuses its efforts on the procurement and sales of uranium, providing services related to processing in the nuclear fuel cycle, and the sales of nuclear devices and materials, based on footholds in Japan and the United States.
