The Lifestyle & Forest Products Division deals in a wide range of products that includes lifestyle-related goods like apparel, footwear, household goods, and tires, and paper pulp-related products such as wood chips, pulp, paper, and paperboard, as well as plywood, cement, and other building materials. The division will continue to strengthen its earnings base domestically, while also constructing new earnings bases overseas, primarily in emerging markets.

Marubeni aims to further expand the significant market shares that its apparel, livingware, and footwear products already have in Japan. It hopes to do so by strengthening its planning and developing capabilities and production capacity in China and the ASEAN countries. Additionally, it is focusing on exploring new supply sources for rubber materials and products, pulp, and wood chips, as well as enhancing its in-house production abilities and sales base for them. It is doing so to expand overseas sales in growing markets such as China and ASEAN countries. Marubeni is also accelerating its efforts to respond to the demand for foreign products in emerging markets. It is doing so by promoting the corrugated container business in ASEAN countries and India, as well as by expanding trade in China. To enhance those overseas sales, Marubeni will continue to actively commit with major partners to strategic collaborations and mergers and acquisitions.
