 ALT Cobalt & Nickel Products (Dalian) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ALT), founded in 2000 through a investment invitation activity of Dalian Municipal People's Government and Dalian Hi-Tech Industrial Park, is a Canadian-owned enterprise registered in Dalian, Liaoning Province. It is a professional manufacturer of cobalt compounds and nickel compounds. As a high-tech enterprise, it enjoys the Self-managed Rights of Import and Export and passed the certification of ISO9001: 2000 Quality Management System. In 2005 ALT is confirmed to be a product export enterprise by Dalian Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau.
As the Northeast China's largest manufacturer, it is well-known for fine cobalt and nickel chemical products. The corporate headquarters is located in Room 4001, Tower 2, Manhattan Building, Friendship Road, Dalian. Also here sales center, financial department, and purchasing department of subsidiaries are situated.
ALT old plant: the production base is located in Qipan New Village, Ganjingzi District, Dalian, 27km away to the headquarters. With a total investment of 5 million US dollars, its annual production capacity of various products reaches 800 tons. Since its inception, its annual sales income has rose to 70 million yuan in 2006 and 136.9 million yuan in 2008 from the initial 10 million yuan.

Brand name product I: cobalt hydroxide of 61.5% at least. The content of weak acid insoluble matter and cobalt black is strictly controlled below 300ppm. The product features excellent product quality and stability, low sodium content, desired bulk density and loose, stable oxidation resistance, bright color, less impurities, and long shelf life. It has been granted Excellence Product Award of Liaoning People's Government, and ALT is one of the world's top three suppliers of it.
Brand name product II: 72% of cobalt oxide and 76% of nickel oxide. Enjoying the highest market share in magnetic materials and glass and ceramics industries in Southeast Asia, they are characterized by fine grain size, moderate density, and good product quality and stability. As ideal raw materials, the annual export volume amounts to over 100 tons respectively.
Brand name product III: 98% of cobalt nitrate and 98% of nickel nitrate. A great deal of research and experimentation has been done for the difficult projects like crystallization, anti-caking, no free acid in the solution, solution transparency, and ultra-low sulfur, and also the contents of Cd, Pb and As are tightly controlled. The product solution is clear and transparent and it can be applied as the metal surface conditioning agent with impressive effects. With the China’s leading quality, ALT has the highest export volume of the product.
Brand name product IV: high-density (large-proportion) cobalt oxalate of 31.5%. The product density can be up to 0.8-0.9g/cm3, which is rare among the global suppliers. It’s mainly used in the production of high-density cobalt powder reduction industry. The obvious advantage lies in high density, that is, 3 times of the bulk density (0.2-0.3 g/cm3) of other manufacturers.
Brand name product V: high-density Co3O4. It is specially developed to be applied as nutrient in the fodder industry. The surface bulk density reaches 1.2-1.4g/cm3 and median diameter D50 ranges 2-8um. Its annual export volume registers more than 100 tons. The product has been awarded as Third Prize of New Products of Liaoning People's Government.
Brand name product VI: particle cobalt sulfate of 10%. It got successful bids by international businessmen for many times. The annual export volume hits 200 tons and is Top one in China. The product is listed in the National Spark Plan.

ALT new plant: it was announced the establishment on Aug. 18, 2007. Its construction site is Dalian Chemical Industry Park. It’s under construction with the initial investment of 5 million yuan. ALT new plant is renamed as Dalian ALT Cobalt & Nickel New Material Manufacture Co., Ltd.. The new plant is mainly engaged in the R&D and large-scale production of hi-tech green series of battery materials and the provision of high-density Co3O4 for domestic and foreign manufacturers of cobalt acid lithium batteries. Adhering to the policy of “Company development through science and technology, it will constantly open up new areas of power supply materials and promote the development of green battery products.
The new plant will start from the production of cobalt and nickel ores by the processes of extraction – reaction – neutralization – calcination. Its production capacity is expected to be 500 tons per year calculated by the amount of cobalt metals, and 200 tons per year, by nickel metals. Covering a plant area of 45,000 square meters, the company will adopt a scientific design proposal use modern equipment devices, and form the technologies and processes with independent intellectual property rights.
After the completion of the new plant, its products will be mainly applied as the prophase driving materials for the new lithium nickel cobalt oxide power cells with large capacity and long standby time, meridian rubbers, high-grade metal surface conditioning agents, hard alloy materials, and magnetic materials.
