 Chongqing Sanfeng Covanta Environmental Industry Co., Ltd was set up in 1998. It absorbed the advanced operation and maintenance (O&M) expertise from the global WTE industrial magnate—Covanta Holding Corporation and became a Sino-US enterprise, of which Chongqing Sanfeng Environmental Industry Group（the large-scale environmental group in the field of WTE investment and operation, which is affiliated to Chongqing Water Asset Management Co., Ltd.） holds 60% of the equity share and Covanta Holding Corporation holds 40%。
As a pioneer in WTE industry of China, Sanfeng Covanta always adheres to the social responsibility and service aim of “for a cleaner world”. It introduced the world-class Waste-to-Energy technology and flue gas cleaning technology from Martin GmbH since its establishment. Sanfeng Covanta is dedicated to developing the WTE industry in domestic and overseas market to realize the environmental treatment and resource utilization of household waste. After more than a decade of accumulation and innovation, Sanfeng Covanta has trained large numbers of special talents and obtained numerous professional qualifications in design, consulting, construction, power debugging, operation and other fields. Up to now, Sanfeng Covanta has held the leading position in the industry and become the vice-president unit of Chinese Environmental Protection Industry Association and the leading unit of National Environmental Industry Solid Waste Disposal. The national standard “Municipal Solid Waste Incinerator and Heat Recovery Boiler” mainly compiled by Sanfeng Covanta was issued and implemented on June 1, 2009. Sanfeng Covanta has chiefly compiled or co-compiled 11 national and industrial standards so far.
