A phosphate mining project is looking for potential suppliers.

The project includes:

– an open pit mine
– a processing plant
– an access road

It will start its development in the next few years. The total investment is £667 million.

There are resources of around 540 metric tonnes (Mt) of high-quality phosphate rock. The project will start operating at 2Mt a year but is expected to produce 2.5Mt a year.

The phosphate rock will be transported to the port by lorry.
